The Courtside hoop is a great lifetime basketball standard. It comes with a 48 inch Shatter Proof Fusion® backboard with a Slam-It® rim and a Strong Arm® height adjustment feature. The advantage of a portable lifetime basketball standard is that no concrete is required. Simply fill the base with sand or water for stability. Water is easier to manage as far as filling, moving, and draining the base. Sand provides more rigidity, is more suitable if you want your system to withstand higher winds, aggressive play, and leaking. This Lifetime basketball standard is built with top-quality construction and an innovative design. The shatter proof backboard is made of Makrolon® polycarbonate, which is virtually unbreakable and much stronger than acrylic! The pole structure is made of powder-coated steel to resist rusting. Major components made in the USA.

I was in the market for a new Portable hoop after I had the last one for almost 15 yrs. Overall I couldn't be happier. The product is very well made, and from the looks built to last. Assembly of the unit does take some time, but all the units in its class take some time to build. My only complaint would be, it does take awhile to fill the base with sand. I recommend that you have a helping hand for this step. As for the performance of the product. The backboard is a good size and does give a decent bounce once the base is completely filled. The rim also has a good bounce and is a break-a-way style rim which works very well to protect the unit. The unit does wobble slightly when a hard shot hits the backboard. After going over the unit to make sure all bolts were tight, I noticed that most of the wobble comes from the adjustment handle. So when I play I just tie it down so the backboard doesn't wobble and gives a more true bounce. Thi sunit will provide many years of enjoyment.

Pros:"Sturdy" Cons:"Light base" Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. My kids and the neighborhood kids use this basketball hoop all year long. I appreciate how sturdy it is. The backboard is solid and won't break as easily as some other hoops we've had. My only wish is that the base would be more steady. I've filled it with water and I put sand bags on top of the base. Great product.

Manufacturer's Response: We do not recommend putting sand bags (or any extra weight) on top of the base because that would void your warranty. Adding extra weight may cause cracks to the base, allowing the sand or water inside the base to leak out.
